''Sometimes a moment is enough to make us doubt, other times it gives answers, Then again, sometimes there is questions you dont want answers on...''
It had to be a nightmare...
A mighty thunderclap shook the very foundation of the house, the ground felt like it would open up beneath her, the walls cracked dangerously and she skipped uncontrolled a breath over, when a large lightning split the black sky in two, the storm ravaged the world merciless outside the house massive stone mason, all while the wind stubbornly tried to blow in the windows.
Only fools would be stupid enough to light the fire a night like this, everyone else who still had their full sense, had long ago drowned all signs of embers in fear of suddenly find the floor afire.
The storm itself didn’t touch her really and usually, it would have been one of the most peaceful moments in her life, well knowing that, there were a storm between her and these, who wanted her death so badly.
But this night she couldn't find peace, restless sitting in a corner only with the company of a single lightened candle, she found herself staring at the door all the time as old memories slowly flow back into her mind, where they so long had been kept locked away.
Long forgotten screams of the past echoed in her ears and made a shiver run down her spine, the voices were all too familiar to her, even after so many year and thousands of pictures followed in a steady steam with them, one by one they flashed pass her inner eyes in a huge blur, some of them made sense, yet most of them meant nothing to her, when all came to an end, she knew they all would contain pain and a lot of it, it had been a hard lesson to learn that joy wasn't a part of her life.
Her childhood... Her dreams... Even her parents...
All of it a huge pile of pain she never would get rid of..
A deafening sound shocked her, flying up from the chair towards the window, her eyes went wide by the sight of the neighbour’s garden, in middle of the darkness burned the once old oak, hungrily devoured by the fire, just like...
NO! It wasn’t time for thoughts like these, it hadn’t been her fault and it never would be, her mother had without force been leading the dagger into her own beating heart, no one could blame Merissa for that, not even, if it all had been in order to save her life..
With a deep breath she forced the memories back in the darkness, these memories all belong to the past, what truly annoyed here were the present and the fact that she couldnt sleep, worry dominated her mind and made her more than usually restless; He was out there somewhere, perhaps caught in storms terrible grip... dyeing..
Right in that moment, she appreciated been alone, no one should see her like this..
Worried... Waiting for a man... to come home..
It was pathetic, how low she had fallen these pass months, showing such weakness in front of others, no way, unthinkable, specially since she didn’t loved him... Or did she...?
Next morning by dawn, when Thomas came home unharmed from his silent night in 'The prancing pony', he found her sleeping in a chair by the window...
