Al Estel

Faorie sat along the banks of the river coursing past the vineyards of Lorien. She sat alone, where the gloaming skies faintly shimmered in countless stars. She would look up to them, counting them but losing count quickly, for time would pass more stars would appear where they once hid.

She stopped counting and searched aimlessly into the sky. Her brows furrowed as a tension in her chest began to build. She whispered to herself in Sindarin, "No... it is still there. It has not died, it is still there." She gripped her chest tightly.

After a long moment, she relaxed herself, exhaling slowly. She stood up and made her way closer to the river's edge where she kneeled, leaning over the clear, flowing waters. Reaching for her sharpest weapon, she gripped her hair to pull it down and sliced through the collection of strands. She placed down the bundle and continued the process all around. She lined the collected cuts alongside each other and looked down to them with an empty smile. "Ennas vin al estel."

Faorie bowed her head solemnly. She turned towards the sky to see a larger collection of stars since last she gazed upwards. Her expression also emptied and she closed her eyes, feeling the calm breezes brushing against her cheeks as they once did long ago.
