A Meeting on the Lonely Road

(Zagzeroth enters the Forsaken Inn and has a couple of drinks and smoke a bit of pipe-weed, before travelling down the stairs for a short rest...)

Ynel looks at the elf thoughtfully
Zagzeroth shakes his head and begins to smoke
Ynel blinks a few times and looks at the pipe that he lits again. He humms to herself.
Ynel says, 'You....elf...I haven't seen you before.'
Zagzeroth looks the woman up and down slowly with a slight scowl then speaks in a chilling yet enthralling and melodic tone, "Need something miss? Or have you simply come to stare..."
Oddisa hides herself in the shadows behind the doorway and listens curiously.
Ynel wets her lip before she replies. Her own tone is likewise melodic, but in a different way. "What if I have come to stare? Would that be new to you?....or even unwanted?"
Zagzeroth says, 'Not new, unwanted perhaps... it would depend on what it is you seek.'
Ynel says, 'I am not certain yet....I was about to ask the sam question from you...'
Zagzeroth nods slightly, "I come to this Inn when I pass through, what concern is that to you miss...?"
Ynel says, 'I've seen many passengers but not many elves. I thought that your kind is more comfortable in forest groves. Is the wilderness so hostile that you'd turn to the shelter offered by men? I find that strange...if you do not mind me saying so.'
Zagzeroth extinguishes his pipe and places it into a custom pouch on his side before speaking again, "I am not welcome in the lands of my people... the dark passages of the towns of Men and the deep caverns of the dwarves are the places I now call home... though this is hardly important information so I give it freely..."
Ynel cants her head sligtly to one side like a curious canine. "Not welcome?" she purses her lip and looks him over slowly. "You have a story to tell.."
Zagzeroth sighs lightly, "Always so curious you folk are... very well then..." pauses to sigh again, "I took part in events that would warp the thoughts of my people towards me and exiled to the lands of men to live forever knowing my disgrace and that I would never again see the undying lands across the sea... details of those events I do not give willingly."
Ynel says, 'But you don't think yourself deserving of that, do you? Are you twisted or criminal by your own sense?'
Zagzeroth says, 'I simply am... that is all, a forgotten memory to my people an outcast and vagabond by your own... though I hold many dwarves in bonds of friendship I will never truly belong anywhere but the shadows from which my exile was wrought.'
Zagzeroth whispers something to himself after he finishes.
Ynel remains quiet for a moment, seeming to consider his words. Then she finally sneaks a bit closer, stepping up over the bed nearby. "Do you look to meet friends here? I have not seen many dwarves come by..."
Zagzeroth nods slightly taking note of the woman's movements... "Aye, a grumbling old dwarf fond of cursing his own name and his lad, a tall Dale-man."
Ynel says, 'I haven't seen any dwarves, but I've possibly seen the Dale man. What is his name?'
Zagzeroth says, 'They would not leave each other... so this is unlikely but his name is Vuldgnaar ((Wuldgarr)), the dwarf's name is Dagnabbin...'
Ynel says, 'Oh....maybe I was mistaken. It has a strange sound to me.'
Ynel shrugs some and sighs "Maybe I ought to leave you be. I have no true business with you, I was merely curious."
Zagzeroth nods and thinks to himself for a moment... "That would be fine though you need not leave this room I must depart to my home anyway, the night grows short and I've no love of the light... not anymore..." with that his voice trails off and he moves to leave the room.

(Zagzeroth leaves the Inn and travels home, to The Shade Pool, deep in the shadowy boughs of the Old Forest.)
