New Journal, Entry Three - No True Kinsmen

It has been some time since I last wrote here. My time has been short to write of my experiences, and they have been many, my work alongside my remaining kinsmen around Bree-land has continued.

But a new matter has come up that concerns me greatly. I've learnt of my kinsmen performing cruel and tyrannous deeds against common folk for crimes beyond their understanding. Men of the north-west watch over the ancient tombs and the lands as their own fiefdom and rule its people by the sword and the whip, led by a zealous man alongside a woman I've learnt to be cruel and cold, they do so in the name of the Dúnedain.

Their eyes have turned feverishly toward a company led by a mere Bree-lander, determined that he is bound for Lake Evendim to plunder its riches and whatever more villainy they accuse him of, they lay in wait and prepare to strike with a hungry intent.

I know this is not true. Haetîra speaks for this man and I am willing to bid my life on her judgement and honesty. Nothing of their journey speaks of such ill deeds. I fear their sudden fury toward this company stems not from any sense of duty but petty personal grudges and ire they would see sated. I must stop them.

I have ridden to Rivendell alongside Haetîra in hopes that we may find counsel in this matter. Here, among the eldar I have met an elven lord and the leader of this band has been summoned for a council.

Now I wait and pray peace may be found before innocent blood is spilt.
