Of Nirnaeth Arnoediad

I had heard that we were marching out of our homes, to aid and reclaim the other Noldor lands. I had told my beloved Alimaenda. "Watch our beloved children with eyes of a eagle while I am gone. Worry not, for I shall not lose myself to the servants of Morgoth, but instead will they lose themselves upon my blade". King Turgon lead us through the Gates of Gondolin, and we marched towards Maedhros' Union. For if Morgoth could really be defeated and his vile servants destroyed, we would know peace. We went out of the safety of Gondolin's walls, and came upon the woods and trails of nature. We had came upon Rivil's well, and did we sound our cries and trumpets, alerting of our presence. With the swift victory in the west, had High King Fingon's host came upon the Gates of the Thangorodrim, but Morgoth had released his full main host in wraith and hate. Sadly, High King Fingon, fell. We had defended the pass of Sirion, until King Turgon had gathered the remnant our Fingon's people and Gondolin's host. We returned from the battle, and I told my wife of the loss. Long did I toil on remembering my friends and brothers-in-arms that were lost in that Battle.
