Following on from A Disturbing Night II
Khalis was stood by the bridge overlooking the falls in Imladris speaking with Elisbeth about the concerns he had for the dreams which had been visiting him over the recent months. Elisbeth informed Khalis that she believed he had sensed somehow a possible threat to Imladris. She also revealed that she believed somehow she had ‘seen’ part of the dreams Khalis had been having as she had been walking through Imladris the night before. As they talked and walked they were hailed by Ridaran, one of the most senior warriors in the Warband. His immaculate dark armour and swords an intimidating sight for those who did not know the warrior beyond his cold outward nature.
Ridaran informed them he had just returned to Imladris from patrol along the western borders of Imladris. Khalis was keen to learn of anything out of the ordinary for in his dream the threat he felt was always from the west. Ridaran informed them that all was as expected and that the sentries were alert as always, thus Imladris was well defended. As Ridaran listened in with the conversation between Khalis and Elisbeth he remarked that just the other night he too had an unusual dream. He mentioned it because he too saw a womans face, she was surrounded by shadow and he saw a scar. But it was also very vague and he could not recall any more detail.
Khalis recounted some of the details of his own dreams with Ridaran and also how they had only started occurring since they had visited the ancient relics that had appeared across Middle Earth. They went on to speak about them in detail with Ridaran for he had been away when the warband was sent out to locate them. The talk then turned to the one which lay closest to Imladris, and the hidden temple structure which Nimlith had spoken to them about. Ridaran was keen to see what they had been speaking about and also to shed some light on these dreams which had been disturbing those in Imladris. So Elisbeth spoke with a rider and sent him ahead to Lord Elrohir saying that a small party will be heading out from Imladris to Nan Tornaeth. Thus three riders bearing the livery of the warband rode out from the Gates of Imladris towards the Bruinen.
As they rode past Thorenhad and informed Lord Elrohirs scouts of their presence they pressed forward towards the encampment where one of the elven warders was keeping a watchful eye upon the ruins. At his encampment with their mounts settled they spoke with the warder who informed them that nothing untoward had left the ruins of late. And so the three made their way towards the ruins with watchful eyes and readied weapons. As they started climbing up the slope they saw the expected undead guardians of the ruins sense their presence and engage them in combat. Ridaran and Khalis launched their own attacks in reply to the 3 undead warrior to their front, they heard Elisbeth begins to speak her words of power and they felt the warmth of her summoning the element of fire warm their backs. But now something unexpected happened for from their right came a barrage of arrows all thumping into one of the undead warriors and it fell. The other two quickly followed suit slain by the smooth co-ordinated efforts of the trio. As the three looked around assessing the scene the form of Galrandir moved into view, his radiant bow in hand.
Offering greetings first to Elisbeth and then the others he enquired after the reason the warband was travelling in Nan Tornaeth. They informed him of their tale, and he explained that he was in search of his brother who he believed was last heard of in the Trollshaws, but was overdue returning. Galrandir after speaking with Elisbeth then joined their fellowship and the now four made their way deep into the heart of the ruins and the doors that would lead them unto the Temple.
