| Outward Appearance | Fiery green eyes that would seem to spell doom by itself if staring into the empty soul of an orc. Rich, dark, auburn hair (and a beard of course) flying everywhere when in battle. Various scars decorating his hard, stony face as a testimony to his past battles. These are the features depicting Captain Mortanas Mandais, a hardened warrior who is almost always ready. When on patrol or in command, this dwarf would be equipped with dwarven armor, of the best quality. An insignia marking his rank as Captain could also be seen on him. As for weapons, he would usually carry either an axe and a shield, or one long dwarven great axe. |

Background
Mandais has seen and done many things over his fairly long life. Many battles in the war against evil he has fought. Many sorrows he has faced. Half of Middle-Earth he has journeyed. Indeed, much knowledge he has gained.
Mortanas was born and raised in Thorin's hall, exactly seventy-seven years after it was founded. In his training as a guardsman and warrior, he learned from two of the greatest warriors in Ered Luin. Eostred the maker, and Ieron the learned. Eventually, he went on to travel Eriador on many quests and journeys as a loyal scout and warrior for the dwarves of Thorin's hall and other strongholds. In time, he was no longer thought of as a simple guardsman or soldier, but a master in his art, training other notable warriors, such as Durgrimm the champion. Now (around 3018) he has earned the title of Captain and is serving in the order of Draugmir. A group of men and elves (and dwarves) dedicated to fighting the forces of Angmar and keeping certain relics safe.
