Background
Born in the Iron Hills to Erebor refugees, Kolbrand returned to defend his ancestral halls in 2941. He lost most of his left leg - and his calling as a soldier - during the battle, and became a crafter of prosthetic limbs instead.
He spends a lot of time travelling, and, for a time, ventured regularly to Mirkwood and its surrounds, eliciting raised eyebrows from many of his kin. Twenty years ago, however, he abruptly stopped visiting, and now wanders far from his home as a trader.
The reasons for this change are not clear, but suffice to say that he speaks suspiciously good Sindarin, for a dwarf. With a Mirkwood accent.
OOC note
Kolbrand has a middling reputation as a craftsman, but is not tremendously well-known outside of that. If your character is an amputee and has spent much time in Bree or the relevant areas of Rhovanion, he might have fitted you with a false limb at some point in the last seventy-odd years.
| Loves | Working with his hands. Drinking. The smell of ale and coal-fires on the evening air. |
|---|---|
| Hates | Steep stone staircases. |
| Motivation | The satisfaction of a job well done. |
| Quotes | "Here - there's a question. If an elf loses his leg, does he just sort of find it... waiting there in Valinor? Hopping up and down on the beach, sort of thing?" |
