Having travelled safely through Mirkwood thus far, due to the guidance of a thoughtful Elf, and the company of friendly Dwarves, Waelden and Yllfa take a little time to themselves, and explore. Ethel is in safe hands, dancing with some of the elves that seem to delight in her enthusiasm.

Finally alone again, they marvel at the beauty of the caves, and at a recent discovery.

There is much beauty still in the lands.

Estarfin prefers to be out under the sky and stars, than in the caverns of Felegoth. Danel takes him to a vantage point, where they look over the Emyn-nu-Fuin, and recall a little of its past. She suggests a small 'quest' to assist Thranduil's folk, and possibly give Estarfin something to think on.

"It reminds me of somewhere..."

..said Estarfin.

Danel remained silent, knowing only too well the place Estarfin meant. Was it not her intent to visit here partly for that reason?

"Menegroth," the warrior stated as he leant forward.

Danel simply repeated the name, but she though 'Aye, Menegroth, place of the Second Kinslaying. And so we begin.'

Not a quiet night in Dale

[Trigger warning: rape attempt]

Third Age, 2600s

Dale and Mirkwood

Olriandis went out of the loud staggering tavern to breathe some fresh air and give rest to her ears. She stepped into the quiet side street and inhaled the night summer air, full of flower scent and lake breeze. She liked being a part of trading expeditions to Dale-lands and Erebor - being curious by nature, she was attracted by different lands and races.

Chapter Four: Along the Anduin

Story

She stands on the precipice. She stands upon the point of no return. The wind whips through her hair, catching her braided locks in its wild grasp and pulling threads and strands of her hair loose. The skirt of her tunic flaps wildly in front of her as she stares down the sheer drop. A sense of nausea overcomes her, and she stands upright once more so she does not have to see the bottom.

Chapter Two: At Felegoth

Story

The scrape of metal against the stone floors of Felegoth leaves a shrieking sound in its wake. It draws the attention of all those who watch the sorrowful march of the younger sister through the halls. The rhythmic clink of the steel against the steps is the beat to which she sets her footfalls, trudging through the long halls of wood, and stone, and eyes that look on in silent pity. Pitiable is she that walks alone now.
