(A notice posted around the Inns and Markets of Bree, and Staddle)

Good folk of Bree-town and Staddle, if you must walk the Old Forest's ways then I implore you to stay on the paths, I've faintly heard the sound of footfalls as I wandered through the wood in search of game, eyes upon me at my every turn... after some time I left the forest as quickly and quietly as I could, though the feeling of eye upon me never left until I had reached the edge of the wood, and quite glad I am that I did... whatever lurks in the shadows of that wood can only be sinister I'm sure.

~ Anonymous Hunter

((This notice has been placed in an effort to bring suitable RP to the Old Forest in whatever form may come from this notice, it is also posted to advertise the presence of my character, Zagzeroth, who takes up residence in the darker regions of the Old Forest, most notably "The Shade Pool" and the "Weeping Water".))

[ Seeking IC traveling companion for wandering about at a fairly leisurely pace, exploring and having humble adventures. Forochel isn't the end-point of the journey, but a great place to begin the next chapter.

Play preferences: I'm the type that likes to move at a walk about half the time when in the wilderness, and I like to linger over the scenery a little. Regularly-scheduled 3 or 4-hour sessions once or twice a week would be lovely. I prefer smaller posts over lengthy paragraphs so our conversations can move at the speed of conversations. :)

This Forochel journey is a setup I put together for wandering around with someone, but it’s just a concept, though it’s one I’ve used before and enjoyed. But if you’ve got something different that also sounds fun, feel free to pitch it. Starting from scratch is ok by me.

Beorning sisters seeking to touch the southern border of Gondor before their cousins can? I’m in.

Ethically-flexible former mercenaries fallen on hard times, seeking to fill their own purses instead of company coffers? We could do that.

Let’s just make it full of fun adventure and peak moments, I’m not wanting to dwell continually on angst and worries. We get enough of that outside of roleplay :)  ]

Good citizens,

With another festive time approaching, the Town Watch is looking to recruit more guards to their ranks to keep an eye on the town and make sure everything goes in accordance to the order. Let it be known that while this is a short-term opportunity for the duration of the upcoming festival, should you wish to continue to offer your service to the Town afterwards we will certainly take into consideration your performance during the time following, as well as any previous experiences you may have had.

A good candidate

- follows the orders given to them precisely,

- has a clean past (minor, non-repeated misconducts may be overlooked), and

- steers away from alcoholic beverages while on duty.

If you feel fit for the task an application awaits you in the Town Watch recruitment office.

OOC: Looking for a few people who would like to join me in an RP encounter in Bree as guards. This is not related to the Bree Town Watch kinship, although if any of their members are reading this and are interested they are most welcome to join. You can message Halgrun here or in game or Valcran in game for more details.

The War of the Ring broils in the South, with conflicts rising in the Kingdoms of Rohan, and Gondor. Corsairs raid the coasts, Osgiliath is under seige, even the White City is under threat. More north, Rohan is at war with the rising power of Isengard, who spills forth their legions of Orcs, and Hillmen of Dunland to raid and conquer the once fair country. Even Dale and the Lonely Mountain are threatened by the Easterling Hordes, and perhaps the Warbands of Goblins from the Mountains..

Though there is also a War in the North. Eriador, long thought peaceful, quiet..Has found itself with a menace once thought defeated..Angmar. The Iron Crown rises once more, to try to conquer the North. In their quiet slumber, they have milled forth Legions of orcs, and other foul creatures to do their bidding. Caught unawares, the peoples of Eriador find themselves in a state of shock, to have such a foe suddenly at their door. Even Rhudaur, long thought defeated and gone, is rising once again, sowing together the ripped remnants of the hills. The Orc tribes of Angmar occupy the great Fortress of Fornost, and much of the region known commonly as "the North-Downs." They have gone as far as to occupy the once great city Annuminas..Though the Rangers and remaining Dunedain of the North of amongst the few that stand in their path. The Men of the North have fallen back to the town of Trestlebridge, gearing up to hold fast against the hordes. Even the Tomb-Raiders, rather then scavenging for coin and relics, arm themselves, and watch as the war unfolds.

((Hello guys! Gorlakon here once again to bring you: Warbands of Eriador! The general idea of this project is to offer people the chances to sort of Role-Play a little differently then normal Prancing Pony RP, the street brawls, the criminal activity. This is a chance to ever further play your character, to develop them under the strain and glory war offers. Have your character lead(you heard correct, lead) a faction in a game of intrigue and war. You can RP as another character, one for instance that is in fact a true leader of the desired Faction, or discuss with our Project Leaders to see how things can work best for you.

The Current Factions:

The Iron Crown(Taken)

The Krahjarn Tribe

The Blogmal Tribe(Taken)

The Ongburz Tribe

The Tarkrip Tribe

The Free-Men of the North(Taken)

Rangers of the North(Taken)

Wardens of Annuminas

Tomb-Raiders(Taken)

The White Hand(Taken)

The Remnants of Rhudaur(Taken)

The Algraig

The Lossoth(Taken)

The Eglain(Taken)

All the factions that do not have "(taken)" beside there name, are still free to be selected, for those yet interested in joining this Project. Come join in, enjoy a new sense of Role-Play, watch stories unfold, battles, intrigue, betrayal! Send me a letter via LA for your interest, and which faction you wish to join! Thank you for you time, friends, and good luck in your future endeavors!

This is posted up in various places around Bree. It is written on fine parchment with pictures of beautiful instruments bordering it.

Musicians of Bree,

The Musician's Guild is recruiting. We are a group of the most skilled Musicians across Eriador and we are seeking songwriters, lutists, harpers, flortists and more to come and audition and join the greatest group of musicians anyone has ever seen!

At the bottom, signed in an almost illegible scribble, is the name 'Benedict Sixstring'

OOC: This is a brand new music-centric kinship for musician characters. It doesn't matter whether you play unoriginal abcs or create your own, anyone who RPs a Musician character is welcome. We plan to have lots of concerts, parties and other events so contact Sixstring in game for details!

(A myriad of similar posters cover the old walls of Bree, great in number.)

It is rumoured that eerie figures have been spotted, enshrouded in dark mantles, wide cowls draped over their other-worldly faces.

Swarthy Men, Orc-friends, Easterlings, Men of the far South; the brood of evil and darkness! Enemies of the Free Peoples. They have come to Bree, to Combe and have even been seen near Staddle!

Hear, hear, hardy Men of Bree: Do not stand for these atrocities!

The Watch has abandoned you; the Rangers let these monsters slither into our lands, right beneath their noses. The devils walk amongst us, on the same streets our children play and our elders gather. The shadow of the East has come over Bree-land, for the love of the Sickle, stay alert! Do not engage in speech with these spiteful murderers, for their silvery tongues are full of deceit.

Bree-folk, born from the ruins of a once proud Kingdom, will you stand by and watch the thatches of your homes be burnt? Will you be idle when the Swarthy Men come into our town, to spread their dreadful lies and plot our ruin?!

NO!

UNITE; STAND VAST AGAINST THESE TYRANTS FROM THE EAST.
