You notice a piece of parchment posted near the Town Hole of Michel Delving.

Hullo there! My name is Breona Twilburr, and I am a bounder living just outside of the Shire in a little farming community called Northcotton. What do you mean you haven't heard of it? *Huff* Well, it is actually right next to Oakbarton, a little north of the Greenfields in the Shire.

Now I know what you're thinking: "Lots of queer folk running around those parts." And I am here to tell you that, well yes, folk up here aren't quite like your everyday Bolgers and Sackville-Bagginses (begging your pardon, Lobelia), but it is because we live in a different sort of world. Unlike those who live in the heart of the Shire, folks living on the bounds have to watch out for ourselves. Our poor neighbors in Oakbarton are plagued by locusts, spiders, and wolves. I have even heard rumors of goblins in the area, though I have yet to find any evidence of these outlandish claims. Northcotton itself has been fairly safe, but its current residents have been moving from the area because of all the nasty business in Oakbarton.

Oh dear, I don't think I should have said all that... Um, well, you see I am here to ask for good hobbit lads and lasses to come and settle in Northcotton. The farmers here are terribly shorthanded and could use some assistance. We need fieldhands, bakers, cooks, wine-makers, and animal workers. We also need help in other areas: Our furniture maker moved out last week, we haven't had a tavern keeper in months now, and we have no tailors or jewellers here. We even have a beautiful pipeweed farm with no one to take care of it! And I could probably use a few more Bounders so that I can keep up with all of the reports I keep receiving from the folks in Oakbarton. Begging your pardon, our town needs help!

Please do consider joining us. There is simply too much for us to do by ourselves! Send me a letter if you have any interest in moving to our lovely little town.

Best regards,

~Breona Twilburr

P.S. Please hurry.

OOC: This kinship, though very new, has a great deal of potential. Northcotton is quite easily my favorite hobbit area in the game, but it is so easily forgotten. I want to bring back the town and turn it into an rp hub. The basic idea is to recreate a hobbit town just as it would exist in Tolkien's world. For that, we need people who can take on different roles. For example, we could use a blacksmith to shoe our ponies. We could use someone to feed the animals in the morning. We need a tavern keeper to keep our spirits light and offer us a place to gather in the evenings. On the other side of the coin, Northcotton is located on the edge of the Shire and is not as safe as Hobbiton or Michel Delving. We need Bounders to exterminate pests when needed, to protect the town from threats, escort kin members to and from other towns, and to assist other kinships or fellowships in need of an extra sword or two. This kinship will involve both the everyday matters of provincial town life and the excitement and adventure of the Bounders. Due to the nature of this kinship, it is very important that all members are actively involved, especially as we form this town together. We will have weekly rp gatherings (kin chat will be ooc), kin or hobbit events, raids/instances, and even games (who wouldn't want to play a game of hide-and-seek in Northcotton? http://static-assets.shivtr.com/images/sprite-emotes.png); color: rgb(37, 29, 13); font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 15px; background-position: -221px 0px; background-repeat: no-repeat no-repeat;" title="Wink" />) Send an in-game 'tell' to Breona on Laurelin if you are interested, and I will respond as soon as I can. You may also fill out an application on our website: northcotton.shivtr.com

The Glade Council was founded over 500 years ago by an elven scout known as Mithrelas. Mithrelas Faerondarl was 1386 years old, he grew up within the woodland realm of Mirkwood, once known as Greenwood the Great. The name Mithrelas is composed by the Sindarin words mithren, meaning "grey", and las, meaning "leaf." Although fairly young, Mithrelas had advanced knowledge of combat and had proven his leadership skills to many of his kinsmen when he was appointed leader of a compnay of Elves appointed with the task to retake the ruined tower of Cirith Ungol. The Glade Council became part of Mithrelas' life when he was sent by his lord to help fight the Evil spawning all over Bree-Land. As a wood elf Mithrelas set up camp in Eryn Vorn rather than paying for a room in the Prancing Pony. The trees of Eryn Vorn began to communicate with the Elf and warned him of powerful evil forces corrupting the world. Mithrelas became aware of the real threat of the Shadow as many orc invaders tried to slay him in his sleep. The orcs were sent to the forest by an unknown enemy, to cut down the trees and use them to fuel their black forges. Mithrelas had to protect the Forest as it was now part of him. One dusky evening he came across a fellowship of travellers, they too claimed to be communicating with the forest and were also determined to protect it from harm. A kinship was forged and remained strong until, suddenly, it shattered, never to be heard of again.

But, nature always finds a way and slowly it seems that the Council may once again stand against the forces of the Dark Lord.

Our Official Charter

People of the Shire! A year ago I was like you. I grew barley, hay, apples and pears on land that has been in my family for 3 generations. Then I had my eyes opened to the Dangers that confront the Shire!

A large Goblin tribe has settled in the Greenfields above Bockenbornings! Bullroarer Took would be appalled! Dwarven Raiders in Needlehole, Brigands in Tookland and Orc outside Buckland!! Something is dreadfully wrong!

In places beyond our borders, it only gets worse! Towns better defended than ours have been burned to the ground! Crops stolen! Innocents murdered or worse!

I know what you fine Hobbits are saying!! “Don’t look for trouble and none will look for you!” “That it’s Big Folk trouble, let them deal with it!” Well the Big folk are dealing with it!

Rangers,Men, Elves and Dwarves, have given their blood and very lives to make sure the Shire remains untroubled! But the enemy is powerful and many. How soon until these heroes go to look after their own troubles? The Elves are leaving these shores. The dwarves delve deeper into their mountains. Men alone cannot hold back this tide without help!

To that end I am building a group of volunteers….”The Out of Bounders”.

Our purpose is threefold.
· Firstly, to go outside the Shire to pick up the Shire’s end of the slack that is being held by Elf, Man and Dwarf. We’re scouting enemy territory, defending innocents, or adding clubs or blades where they are lacking.

· Second (Perhaps the more important) Bring some measure of the peace we’ve enjoyed here, to those who have thus far given us that peace without reward or remembrance. We’re bringing a slice of warm spiced apple pie to a Ranger in Estelidin. We’re sharing a pouch of Longbottom leaf with a dwarf who walked out of the wyrm’s maw of Angmar. Lightening the heart of an elf on the late watch with the finest Shire songs! Give these heroes a taste of what we enjoy and gladden their hearts in the Dark.

· Lastly we must bring the stories and the names of those who have fought or died for us, back to the Shire so that all may know them. We must ensure the honored living and dead are not truly unsung heroes.

Many hands make for light work. We look for other hobbits of ill repute (who feel as we do) and Big Folk who enjoy the finer things in life to join us. We understand our reputations are plummeting by the minute. We’ll miss the birthday party invitations, but sleep better knowing that there could be another birthday.

If you wish for a more discrete dialog, drop me a post (Limdalen, Laurelin server) and I will seek you out to see how you wish to help.

(OOC: A Mature, Moderate to heavy RP guild around the precepts and ideas in the Charter above. This will not be a militaryband/militia kin with boot camps patrols, and such. This is a looser association with in and out of game roleplay ability thanks to a online message board. I would like to actually reach out to other kinships in the idea that they are the interactive connection to the static NPCs that we all interact with. We’re on a Roleplay server so I’d like us to become the "morale boosters" of middle earth. Someone in another kin need’s armor, we make it. Someone needs Dyes, our scholars make them. A fellowship need an extra setof hands for a raid, we step in to fill the gap. I’m also interested in arranging RP events sponsored by the Guild in various places in Middle earth that could use a good cheering up. I’d like us to be allied with as many other Kins as possible. I hope this kin is of interest to others. “The Out of Bounders”!)
