Hilfar

1 forsaken ale

Somewhere in the barren lands sat a solitary dwarf staring at the dubious brew standing before him. He swayed the dark liquid, moving too slow through his tankard "What is this? I asked for Ale!". Hilfar took big gulp and crinched at the taste "Are you trying to poison me? Bah!". The bartender yelled over to the hooded dwarf "Forsaken ale, dear customer! Enjoy!". Hilfar grumbled staring at the tankard again and swallowed the rest of it "What has become of me..."

Prologue

This tale picks up after the Moria expedition, described here. After the discovery of mithril in Khâzad-Dum, something went terribly wrong, driving his party apart, Hilfar was forced into exile. His path led him deep into the mountains where he was about to face the coldest winter any dwarf had to endure. 

Chapter 1

Hail weary traveller, share a drink with me. Looks like ye can use something strong. You come here often? I cant recall I'd seen your handsome face here before. Aye, I can share a tale, if you want.
