I don't need too many things
I'd say 'Less can be  more'
Joy that only close friends bring
Forever, now and as before.

The Little Hobbits Long Lost Poem of Little Lost Mathoms

Shining silver in the ground,

waiting, yearning to be found.

A hidden Mathom shining bright,

glistening in the pale moonlight

A silver spoon or long lost earring,

A Little Heirloom

My first Mathom

Whilst digging around a large seam of iron ore I noticed a silvery glint amongst the spoil heap and much to my surprise I discovered it to be an old ring.

It had an unusual fox motif and although it was quite tarnished it is still very valuable to me as it is my very first Mathom find.

To The Shire!

A Short Trip to Bree

During my time in The Shire I had heard a lot about the town of Bree, home to the tall folk and with buildings of stone and thatch reaching up to the sky I had often wished to see it for myself.

A promotion and greater responsibility

Naima had returned to the Plough and Stars after running an errand to find Uncle Halson waiting for her. Rather than being told off for forgetting to do something she was in fact going to be given the chance to help the owner of The Floating Log inn over at Frogmorton. The Floating Log inn had recently had renovations and was in a terrible state. Although she would have to find lodgings in Frogmorton Naima would have greater responsibilities than just collecting empty mugs and cleaning. At least it would give her a chance to further explore that part of The Shire.

A peculiar find.

The Bounders were all stood around the corpses of three men. They had been discovered at dawn by a farmer out on the road between Budgeford and Scary.  All three lay neatly side-by-side and it was not until the farmer had looked closer that he discovered they were in fact dead and not merely sleeping peacefully, each one had been felled by a blow to the head. At their feet lay numerous objects that appeared to be of Hobbit make and would in fact turn out to be the same objects reported missing from Budgeford and Stock some days earlier.

First impressions

Naima was pleasantly surprised when she arrived at The Plough and Stars, when she had heard that most of the customers were local sheep farmers she had expected the Inn to be a small grubby place surrounded by bleating animals. What she found however was a large well run Inn, immaculately clean and with a warm and friendly group of customers.

Always Lovely
